About Dean
I started my career as a writer, and quickly developed a knack for producing advice-driven, actionable content for practicing clinicians. I then became an editor, and eventually an editorial director, overseeing a number of prestigious and award-winning health care publications. I ultimately shifted to the business side of publishing, taking with me an appreciation of and demand for quality content.
I have developed, launched, and marketed scores of health care education programs in a variety of formats. And I have formed strategic partnerships that have enabled those programs to thrive.

Misc and Fun Stuff
How I balance work and life
My wife Dee and I have developed a passion for long-distance bicycling. Recently we combined this with a tour of the Gettysburg and Antietam Civil War battlefields. Long distance biking gives me time to think, and not necessarily react right away. Just think.
I love to hike as well. And though I am not very good at it, preparing an involved meal takes my mind off work and allows me to relax.
Person I would most like to meet
Abraham Lincoln. I recently toured Civil War battlefields in PA and MD. I'd love to know what was on his mind at that time. What were his fears? Did he ever come close to wanting to give up? What kept him going? I have heard it said that his use of the telegraph made him the master 'Tweeter' of his time. I'd love to ask him why he thought his short, pithy telegraph messages were so important.
Superpower I most desire
For business: mind reader. Outside of work: Superdad (which they tell me I already am!).
Favorite movie/book
Movie: The Shawshank Redemption; Book: The Corrections by Jonathan Franzen.
What's on my music player
Most things 70s, jazz, R&B, Joe Williams (my Dad's favorite artist)
Favorite quote
I have two of them, both from my children when they were young:
'You always never make mashed potatoes!'
-Natalie (never afraid to speak her mind);
'I want to do games TOO MUCH!'
-Kellie (never wanted to stop playing).
